I learned a very cool lighting technique from Matt Weston, grandson of Edward Weston. You use two halogen lights. One is a flood bulb that washes light on the entire picture. Then you aim a halogen spotlight at the most important visual focal point where the natural light was illuminating the subject. This creates an amazing sense of depth in the picture.
